NEXTY Electronics Begins Offering DENSO TEN’s Vehicle Control Unit (VCU)
- Facilitating integrated control of multiple vehicle functions, now available in Japan and overseas -
NEXTY Electronics Corporation (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Yamada; hereafter referred to as NEXTY Electronics) has started offering the standardized Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) developed by DENSO TEN Limited (Kobe City, Hyogo; President: Takashi Yonemoto; hereafter referred to as DENSO TEN). Designed as a core controller for compact mobility and industrial equipment, the VCU enables NEXTY Electronics to deliver integrated system-level solutions, moving beyond standalone power unit proposals. This is expected to shorten development lead times and strengthen customer-oriented solution capabilities both in Japan and overseas.

■ Background and Challenges
Developing electric vehicles (EVs) and other mobility systems requires "integrated control" that coordinates multiple devices—such as motors, batteries, and communication devices. Traditionally, separate ECUs (Electronic Control Units) were developed for system, driving, and body control, demanding significant engineering effort and specialized expertise to ensure seamless coordination among them.
■ Features and Benefits of the VCU
The DENSO TEN VCU is an electronic control unit that centrally manages driving, control, and communication. Acting as the “core brain” of the system, it integrates the entire system and streamlines processes from design and implementation to evaluation, thereby reducing development workload and ensuring the quality of vehicle control.
In addition, by using the development tools provided by DENSO TEN, even developers without specialized microcontroller expertise can more easily design, implement, and evaluate control applications that run on the VCU. This contributes to improved development efficiency and speed.

■ Total Solutions Provided by NEXTY Electronics
By adding the VCU to its lineup—which already includes power units for compact mobility and the NEOS Controller (manufactured by Toyota Industries Corporation), a motor inverter with integrated electronic control functionality—NEXTY Electronics is now able to deliver comprehensive solutions that integrate entire systems. This approach reduces the effort and complexity involved in individual component adjustments, enabling system-wide optimization and shorter development cycles.
Leveraging this integrated solution capability and its global network, NEXTY Electronics will actively expand into markets across Japan, South Korea, China, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe to meet diverse mobility development needs.
NEXTY Electronics will continue to contribute to solving customers’ development challenges and realizing next-generation mobility.
