Micron products are changing the way data is stored.

From world-class client SSDs to high-performance, low-latency enterprise solutions to cost-effective embedded devices, Micron is transforming the way data is stored.
From low-density, energy-efficient embedded drives, to standard HDD replacements, to enterprise-class drive solutions, Micron products offer the capacity, power and performance advantages that drive designs to new heights.
And because we design and manufacture NAND in-house, from the production stage to the final packaged device, our strict quality requirements and extensive investment in solid state drive test equipment mean that reliability is literally built into every single thing.

SSD vs HDD comparison

Here is a comparison table of Micron 5400s SSD vs HDD.
In terms of the six items listed, SSDs are more reliable and have OTHERS high specifications.
We also have a lineup of Form Factor drives that can be used to replace HDDs.

The main difference between HDDs and SSDs is the primary storage medium and how data is moved to and from that storage medium.

HDD
It uses one or more rotating platters and usually two or more read/write heads attached to ACTUATORS mechanism.

SSD
They remove the read/write head and replace it with a set of solid-state flash storage chips, typically using a storage technology called "NAND" that stores information in electronic cells. The advantage of NAND is that it is non-volatile (like HDD platters), meaning that once you write data, it can remain stored even when the SSD is without POWER SUPPLIES.
