BCM (Body Control Module) ★ NEW!
★NEW!">As the number of functions mounted on vehicle bodies continues to increase, the complexity of BCMs related to POWER SUPPLIES, communication, detection, control, and operation is constantly growing. In order to keep this complexity manageable, not only from the perspective of printed circuit board space but also from the perspective of power consumption, functional integration has become a crucial element of design.
Infineon offers a diverse range of product families that enable advanced integration.

Circuit diagram explanation
Furthermore, BCM has become an essential component of the In-Vehicle Network (IVN), and since it utilizes gateway communication, it is connected via LIN, CAN, or Ethernet. Thanks to the AURIX™ multicore, two applications, BCM and gateway, can be integrated into a single device. OTHERS, various advanced security features are available, such as Infineon's PRO-SIL™ and Embedded Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
Lastly and importantly, the BCM's dark current is very low. This is due to the low dark current mode built into the SBC.
Regarding the design, the body control module requires the following:
• POWER SUPPLIES and communication interface - Can be configured as DISCRETE (voltage regulator + LIN/ CAN TRANSCEIVER) or integrated (SBC)
• Microcontroller functionality - Supports a wide range of system requirements, from low-cost BCMs to gateway-integrated BCMs with advanced security features.
• Scalable single-channel and multi-channel high-side and low-side SWITCHES with detection, diagnostic, and protection features.
• Expandable LED DRIVER IC and single half-bridge - with detection, diagnostic, and protection functions
• Expandable TRANSFORMERS and receiver IC - for wireless control such as RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) and PKE (Passive Key Entry).
• Safety Concept - Addresses numerous requirements depending on the system, including undervoltage, overvoltage, short circuit, overload, overheating, load open, wire harness protection, load protection, POWER SUPPLIES protection, ASIL decomposition, OTHERS.
