EV charging systems with power ratings of 30-150kW typically utilize a two-stage power conversion. This involves stacking base 15-30kW subunits to accommodate up to 150kW of power. Standalone CHARGERS at this power level are usually powered by a three-phase AC power POWER SUPPLIES. System-level isolation is typically achieved on DC-DC CONVERTERS side. The low-power subunits provide functional modularity to the system, allowing for converter designs composed of DISCRETE power components.

Infineon can offer a wide range of products for EV charging systems.
For example, Infineon offers the 600V CoolMOS™ SJ MOS FETS P7 and CFD7 families, the 650V IGBTS TRENCHSTOP™ 5, and the 1200V CoolSiC™ MOS FETS. Complementing Infineon's high-voltage SWITCHES portfolio are the 650V and 1200V CoolSiC™ Schottky DIODES. In addition, GATE DRIVER to drive the power semiconductors and controllers to control them are required. Infineon offers EiceDRIVER™ as a GATE DRIVER product and XMC™ and AURIX™ microcontrollers as controllers. OPTIGA™ concludes this product family, ensuring data protection and security.
