Looking at general market trends, there is a growing demand for high-performance pumps offered at higher prices. However, increasing the performance of the pump also increases the overall system cost. A cost-optimized integrated solution (System-On-Chip) for motor control applications is an ideal way to reduce component costs.

The integrated solution (System-On-Chip) significantly reduces the PCB size of even small auxiliary pumps. This is achieved by integrating several functions, such as a charge pump that supports a 100% duty cycle for stop-start operations, resulting in a smaller and lower-cost design. In fact, Infineon's integrated motor control solution, the Embedded Power IC, requires no external devices other than power stages or MOS FETS. This allows for compact designs in limited spaces. For motor control requiring absolute angle detection using TMR/GMR sensors, the Infineon TLE9879 2QXA40 features two differential 14-bit delta-sigma ADCs. Furthermore, Embedded Power ICs are available for both DC and BLDC motors to reduce design effort.
