TOYOTA TSUSHO NEXTY ELECTRONICS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. (“NETH”), the Thailand-based subsidiary of NEXTY Electronics Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Yamada), an electronics trading company within the Toyota Tsusho  Group, has established a joint venture company, Daikin Toyota Tsusho Electronics (Thailand) Ltd. (the “Joint Venture”), together with Daikin Industries (Thailand) LTD. (“DIT”), a subsidiary of DAIKIN INDUSTRIES, LTD.
The Joint Venture’s primary objective is to improve the efficiency of embedded software* development for air conditioning systems. Through this initiative, the company aims to shorten software development lead times and optimize costs in air conditioning system development, while also strengthening its future development foundation.

■ Background and Objectives of the Joint Venture
In recent years, software development for air conditioning systems has rapidly become more complex, expanding beyond embedded areas such as equipment and controllers to include cloud integration and data utilization. In this environment, strengthening software development capabilities and continuously securing and developing personnel have become key management priorities in order to accelerate the launch of differentiated products and enhance customer value.

NETH has approximately 20 years of experience in developing in-vehicle embedded software for the automotive industry, where safety and reliability are critical requirements. The design and quality management expertise cultivated through this development has a high affinity with the air conditioning software development being advanced by DIT. The two companies therefore decided to establish this joint venture, judging that combining their respective strengths would enable them to build a more advanced development structure.

The Joint Venture will initially undertake outsourced embedded software development for DIT. In the future, it plans to expand its structure to meet software development needs from Daikin Group air conditioning development bases, including those in ASEAN countries.

Through initiatives at the Joint Venture, NETH will also apply the advanced design concepts and development expertise it has cultivated in the in-vehicle field to the air conditioning field, contributing to improved development efficiency and speed. In terms of human resources, NETH will be responsible for recruitment and promote personnel development through software development, aiming to build a sustainably competitive software development structure.
Going forward, the two companies will continue combining their technologies and expertise through collaboration with DIT, further accelerating the advancement of software development capabilities in the air conditioning field.
