In multi-camera systems,
the failure of a single camera can affect other cameras that are functioning normally
The MAX20086/7/8/9 family solves this problem
In these multi-camera setups, a single power line generated by the ECU typically splits to supply each camera. This creates a potential vulnerability: if one camera's power supply fails, there is a concern that it could adversely affect the primary power supply or the power supplied to other operational cameras. (Figure 1) As a solution to this challenge, we introduce the MAX20086/7/8/9 family, developed by the former Maxim company.

特徴

Camera power protection IC with up to four integrated protection switches (back-to-back DMOS configuration)
The MAX20086 camera power protection IC integrates up to four protection switches, utilizing a back-to-back DMOS configuration. Each output channel can supply a 600mA load current. The MAX20088 and MAX20089 variants are two-channel devices.
Each output is individually safeguarded against short-to-battery, short-to-ground, and overcurrent conditions. If a fault is detected in the wiring harness or the camera itself, the IC disconnects the power line of the affected channel from the other cameras.
Enables the read control necessary for robust system construction
This IC enables advanced monitoring and control for robust system design. It allows reading the enable status of each channel and the device’s diagnostic status via I2C. In addition, the built-in ADC can measure the current flowing through each switch. Variants compliant with ASIL B and D are also available, providing access to additional diagnostic measurements through the internal ADC for building even more reliable
