The ADA4356 is a low-noise, wide-dynamic-range current-input analog-to-digital converter (ADC) μModule. Designed to save space in size-sensitive applications, the ADA4356 incorporates all the active and passive components necessary for a complete current/bit data acquisition solution, with configurable gain and FILTERS characteristics.
The ADA4356's high-speed TRANSFORMERS amplifier (TIA) front-end amplifier supports a pulse width of 20 ns, providing high spatial resolution in ToF measurements and enabling fast overdrive recovery from large input signals. The ADA4356 features three selectable TIA feedback resistance values for configurable TIA gain.
The internal analog low-pass FILTERS provides cutoff frequencies of 100MHz or 1MHz, reducing broadband noise and acting as an anti-aliasing FILTERS for the ADC input. For low-bandwidth signals, a 1MHz FILTERS configuration further reduces noise.
Following the TIA and FILTERS blocks, a 14-bit pipelined ADC converts the analog signal at 125 MSPS and outputs the digitized signal via two series low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) data lanes, each operating at up to 1 GBPS. The data clock output (DCO) operates at frequencies up to 500 MHz and also supports double data rate (DDR) operation.
