TMC5262: 65V/4ARMS+ Fully Integrated Smart Stepping Motor Controller/Driver

The TMC5262 is a compact, smart, high-power single-axis stepper motor controller/driver IC with SPI connectivity and extensive diagnostic capabilities.
With its high integration, high energy efficiency, and small form factor, it provides a compact, scalable, and cost-effective motor drive solution that is ideal for Nema 17, Nema 23, and Nema 24 stepping motors.
StealthChop+ enables quiet operation, maximum efficiency, optimal motor torque control, and damping of mid-range motor resonance, resulting in smooth motor operation with minimal mechanical vibration. When combined with StallGuard+, CoolStep+, and μDcStep, it allows for the construction of highly efficient and versatile stepper motor drivers. A Nema 17 motor operates automatically with a supply current of only a few tens of mA under no load.
The TMC5262 combines a flexible 8-point ramp generator for automated positioning with a smart 256-microstep motor driver, two integrated 65V, 4.25A RMS, 6A peak H-bridges, and power-dissipation-free integrated current sensing (ICS). ICS eliminates the need for bulky external sense resistors, saving space and power.
The built-in power MOS FETS has a low impedance of approximately 40mΩ, which enables high efficiency and reduces heat generation.
The extensive diagnostic features include an on-chip scope interface (RT-OCSI) for tuning and checking, a temperature and voltage ADC, and a full suite of protection features such as short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown.
This device is offered in a compact, chip-scale, thermally optimized 30-pin 6mm x 6mm FCQFN package.
