Helps prevent accidents caused by drowsy or dangerous driving!
Uses cameras already equipped in vehicles to provide a low-cost solution for contactless detection of vital signs.

This system is able to measure people's pulse rate by analyzing blood flow based on facial images captured by a camera.
By applying NEXTY System Design's proprietary algorithm to analyze detected pulse waves, the system can also estimate stress levels and emotional states.
With HD cameras becoming standard in vehicles nowadays, this vital sign detection system offers a low-cost solution.

Features

Analog Devices C2B IC for HD Video Data Transmission

Features

・ Maximum resolution: 720p (60fps)/1080p (30fps)
・ Can be used with lightweight/low-cost UTP (unshielded twisted-pair) cable
・ Point-to-point connection
・ Uncompressed method, low latency
・ Cable diagnostics function
・ Frame freeze detection function
・ Supports up to 30m (4 inline connectors)
・ Automotive EMC/EMI/ESD standard support

  • Pulse Measurement Principle

By focusing on the green light absorption properties of hemoglobin in the blood, the intensity of reflected light from the skin’s surface, which changes with blood vessel expansion and contraction, is measured and converted into an electrical signal.

  • Stress Measurement Principle

Stress levels are calculated from frequency analysis of pulse waves. The balance between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, derived from pulse wave fluctuations, is quantified.

Application examples

Driver Monitoring System

Driver monitoring systems help to ensure safe driving by using an in-vehicle camera to quickly detect the driver's condition.

  • Driver monitoring systems help to ensure safe driving by using an in-vehicle camera to quickly detect the driver's condition.
Face must be still during measurement.
Camera resolution assumed to be 1080p/30fps.

  • Detects the driver's pulse based on facial video data captured by the camera and calculates the pulse rate.

  • Estimates the driver's emotion using an emotion estimation algorithm.

  • Depending on the result of estimating emotions, displays warnings, suggests resting, etc., via messages on the monitor.

Health Management System

Uses PC/tablet built-in cameras to provide monitoring services for the elderly.
Easy health management is possible through contactless detection.
