What is TC1?

TC1 is a committee that defines the requirements and test specifications for 100BASE-T1, as defined by the Open Alliance.

Functional specifications

1. OPEN Alliance BroadR-Reach® (OABR) Physical Layer Transceiver Specification For Automotive Applications

Based on IEEE 802.3-2012, it defines the BroadR-Reach PHY type, physical coding sublayer (BR-PCS), and physical medium attachment (BRPMA) sublayer operating at 100 Mb/s.
It is recommended that you consider IEEE 802.3, especially the 100 Mb/s PHY (Clause 21-25) and 1000 Mb/s PHY (Clause 34-40).

2. IEEE 100BASE-T1 System Implementation Specification

It provides a general definition and requirements for 100BASE-T1 interfaces intended for use in automotive applications, and the specifications defined in this document must be tested for EMC, interoperability, and conformance (PMA, PCS, PHY control).
However, communication systems that use Power over Data Line (PoDL) are not relevant to this specification.

3. Advanced diagnostic features for 100BASE-T1 automotive Ethernet PHYs TC1 - advanced PHY features

This specification describes advanced features of 100BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet PHYs (also known as transceivers), including diagnostic purposes for the Automotive Ethernet PHY. These mainly include signal quality, harness fault diagnosis, link-up quality, and polarity detection. These can be verified by Access registers. 4. BroadR-Reach DUT and Test Station Requirements

It describes the test requirements for a typical measurement device (DUT), specifically for hardware, MDI CONNECTORS, systems, transmitting and receiving FRAMES, and POWER SUPPLIES.

5. IEEE 100BASE-T1 PHY Control Test Suite

When testing, use the PHY in TestMode. This document describes the tests that correspond to each TestMode.

6. IEEE 100BASE-T1 Physical Media Attachment Test Suite

This book describes test methods for evaluating the functionality of the 100BASE-T1 PMA sublayer. It specifically provides detailed descriptions of the motivation, resources, procedures, and validation methods associated with each test. PMA is described in What is an Automotive PHY?

7. IEEE 100BASE-T1 Physical Coding Sublayer Test Suite

8. 100BASE-T1 Interoperability Test Suite

Describes a test methodology for evaluating interoperability between multiple devices using 100BASE-T1 compatible PHYs.

9. IEEE 100BASE-T1 EMC Test Specification for Transceivers

A test methodology is described for the EMC evaluation of 100BASE-T1 transceivers in automotive applications, focusing on the physical layer of the Ethernet interface.
However, it does not apply to devices intended for use in Power over Ethernet applications.

10. IEEE 100BASE-T1 EMC Test Specification for Common Mode Chokes

A test methodology is described for the EMC evaluation of common-mode chokes (CMCs) intended for use with 100BASE-T1 in automotive applications.
However, it does not apply to devices intended for use in Power over Data Line applications.
