Chapter 1: CEATEC 2025 Theme: "Innovation for All"
Large sign at the entrance
- The theme for CEATEC 2025 is "Innovation for All." This reflects the very philosophy of CEATEC, which aims to bring innovation to everyone, transcending the boundaries of industry, field, country, and region. Innovation is not something that only a select few can create and enjoy, but something that everyone can "create and enjoy"—this year, this idea is clearly demonstrated through exhibits and experiences.
- The important thing is not to just "show" it. It is necessary to concretely depict how cutting-edge technologies and ideas will contribute to society and daily life in the future, to generate greater participation and empathy from more people, and to accelerate social implementation.
- The difference from last year can be summed up in one word: from "introducing possibilities" to "realistic solutions for implementation." The exhibits have shifted from a focus on PoC to include more blueprints that include operational design (phased distribution, rollback, accessibility, cost, and security). There are also many examples of how generative AI can be used in the field, such as log summarization and initial troubleshooting.
Chapter 2: Smart Home at CEATEC 2025
- The purpose of this event is to "achieve Society 5.0, which balances economic development with the resolution of social issues." Its central focus is to bring together people, technologies, and information from a wide range of industries and sectors, and to envision the future through co-creation. In the IoT field, the trend of considering a series of processes in an integrated manner, from interoperability standards (such as Matter and Aliro) to authentication, security, and maintenance, is becoming increasingly clear.
- In his keynote speech, Tobin Richardson, CEO of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), presented the current status of matter, discussing the current state and future of the global standard and its role in the AI era. The CSA Japan booth displayed a variety of demos of matter-compatible devices, allowing visitors to actually operate and experience them.
- In the Smart Home 2.0 era, the widespread implementation of AI in society will accelerate the evolution of smart homes. AI will learn about residents' behavior and the environment and autonomously perform optimal control, dramatically improving convenience and comfort. Advanced voice recognition and natural language processing will also create an environment where anyone can operate the system intuitively, which is expected to lead to widespread adoption. Furthermore, AI-based anomaly detection and enhanced security will increase safety, and smart homes will evolve from simple collections of devices into intelligent partners that support our lives. These changes will be an important step toward realizing Society 5.0.
Chapter 3 CSA Japan Branch Joint Exhibition
About the JIG (Japan Interest Group: CSA Japan Branch) Joint Exhibition
Various JIG member companies exhibited jointly in one large booth. The exhibition was roughly divided into two areas: "B2C" and "B2B."
| area | Exhibition contents |
|---|---|
| B2C | Visitors were able to experience a demo of cutting-edge Matter-compatible devices. |
| B2B | Vendors that handle devices compatible with matter, Semiconductor trading companies, certification companies, and certificate issuers were exhibiting their services. |

Chapter 4: Nexty's Matter Exhibition
OTA (Over The Air) *File distribution server
This is an OTA file distribution service that supports firmware distribution for matter-compatible edge devices.
The service is scheduled to be released next year.
*Technology for remotely updating device software and firmware via wireless communication
OTA file server usage example
- Features:
1. Reduce server development and management costs
2. Simply register an account and you can start using the server right away.
3. Dashboard that can be intuitively operated via a web browser - Recommended usage scenarios:
1. I want to use it for OTA distribution after the release of the matter device.
2. I want to centralize the management of OTA files.
3. I want to visualize the OTA update status of each matter device.
Matter conversion module
Using this board can shorten the development process.
Compact size of just 30mm x 45mm
- Features:
1. Leveraging the convenience of matter, easily convert wired communication protocols to wireless
2. Greater flexibility in installation allows for expanded use in smart homes and industrial applications - Recommended usage scenarios:
1. I want to make devices with legacy protocols matter.
2. I want to promote smart factories, office buildings, etc.
Matter-related hub and platform
This matter-compatible solution is uniquely designed and developed to achieve high compatibility and stability, enabling seamless integration with a variety of devices.
As an example of protocol conversion, we created a prototype using ECHONET Lite, which is widely used in Japan.
See how the hub is used to control and link matter and ECHONET Lite.
- Features:
1. In-house management of hub firmware updates, etc.
2. Log acquisition from a cloud server operated in-house
3. Use of bridge functionality to combine matter with other standards
4. Interconnection with multiple platforms using the Multi-Admin feature - Recommended usage scenarios:
1. I want to incorporate protocols other than matter.
2. I want to keep and manage all device logs in-house
3. I want to customize and optimize the hub's functions.
