Product overview

Infineon offers an industry-leading USB product portfolio, including USB 2.0/3.2 peripheral controllers, USB hubs, and USB-C Power Delivery (PD) controllers. The EZ-USB™ series supports USB 2.0 (FX2LP) to USB 3.2 Gen2 (FX10/FX20) standards, achieving ultra-high-speed transfer speeds of up to 20 Gbps. GPIF III (General Programmable Interface) enables flexible connection to FPGAs, ASICs, and image sensors.
The EZ-PD™ series offers a lineup of USB-C PD 3.0/3.1 compliant port controllers and products with built-in high-voltage microcontrollers. They support industrial, automotive, and consumer applications, including power delivery up to 240W (EPR compatible), barrel CONNECTORS replacement (BCR), and multi-port CHARGERS. AEC-Q100 certified products are also available, making them ideal for in-car USB-C charging and data hubs.

The reference design combines the EZ-PD™ PAG1 with a GaN SWITCHES to realize a 65W to 240W USB-C PD CHARGERS. The high-efficiency QR flyback achieves over 93% efficiency, and PPS support makes it compatible with a wide range of devices.

Use Case 3: In-Vehicle USB-C Charging & Data Hub
