Product overview

LITIX™ is an automotive LED DRIVER IC family from Infineon, offering a wide lineup covering all functions for exterior and interior lighting. The series consists of LITIX™ Basic, Basic+, Linear, Power, Power Flex, Pixel Rear, and more, and integrates stable brightness through constant current control, high-precision PWM dimming, and diagnostic and protection functions. Compliant with AEC-Q100, it ensures high reliability even in harsh automotive environments from -40°C to 150°C.

Main features:
LITIX™ Linear: Simple linear current source for low to medium current (2-85mA), low cost and stable brightness.
LITIX™ Basic / Basic+: 1 to 3 channel configuration, supports up to 400mA, single LED short detection, and power shift function for optimized thermal design.
LITIX™ Power / Power Flex: Multi-topology DC-DC control (Boost/Buck/SEPIC), 4-SWITCHES buck-boost control, supports up to 30A, and supports multiple light control such as matrix LED headlights.
LITIX™ Pixel Rear: Supports dynamic lighting control, including animations and sequential turn signals.

Use cases and implementation examples

Use Case 1: Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

[Use case overview]
DRLs are essential for improving visibility during the day, and require stable brightness and a long lifespan. LITIX™ Basic+ is equipped with PWM dimming and diagnostic functions, making it easy to switch DRLs on and off and detect faults. It is AEC-Q100 compliant, ensuring reliability even under harsh temperature conditions.

[Major features]
PWM dimming, open load detection, over temperature protection

Use Case 2: Rear combination lamp (sequential turn)

[Use case overview]
With rear lamps placing emphasis on design, sequential turn signals and animations are becoming more common. LITIX™ Pixel Rear allows independent control of over 16 channels, making dynamic lighting easy to implement.

[Major features]
Multi-channel control, SPI communication, diagnosis and protection

Use Case 3: Matrix LED Headlamps

[Use case overview]
Matrix headlights that realize glare-free high beams and adaptive light distribution require high-current, fast-response drivers. LITIX™ Power Flex supports up to 30A with multi-topology DC-DC control and achieves efficiency of over 92%.

[Major features]
SPI control, multi-topology, thermal protection
