Product overview

OPTIREG™ is a family of automotive POWER SUPPLIES supply ICs from Infineon that includes linear regulators (LDO), SWITCHES regulators (DC-DC), and PMICs (Power Management ICs). The lineup of AEC-Q100 compliant and ISO 26262 compliant products provides optimal POWER SUPPLIES supply for all ECUs, including ADAS, powertrain, body, and infotainment.

Features:
LDO (OPTIREG™ Linear): Low dropout, low noise, ultra-low Iq (4.3µA), input 3.7 to 40V, output accuracy ±2%. Ideal for sensors, MCUs, and CAN/ LIN TRANSCEIVER.
DC-DC (OPTIREG™ Switcher): Synchronous rectification step-down, max 2.5A, input 3.7 to 42V, efficiency over 90%, low EMI design.
PMIC (OPTIREG™ PMIC): Multi-rail supply, pre-/post-regulator configuration, SPI control, window watchdog, ASIL-D support. Ideal for ADAS and domain controllers.

Use cases and implementation examples

Use Case 1: ADAS ECU (camera/radar)

[Use case overview]
ADAS ECUs require multiple voltage rails (MCU, sensors, communication ICs) and high levels of safety. OPTIREG™ PMICs provide stable 3.3V/5V supply with pre- and post-regulator configurations, and incorporate window watchdog and voltage monitoring. ASIL-D support facilitates ISO 26262-compliant designs, reducing the number of components and improving reliability at the same time.

[Major features]
Multi-rail supply (3.3V/5V)
SPI control, window watchdog
ASIL-D compliant, AEC-Q100 compliant

Use Case 2: Zone ECU and Body Control

[Use case overview]
Zone ECUs require both continuous monitoring and load driving. OPTIREG™ Linear technology minimizes standby current with its ultra-low Iq (4.3µA), while Switchers drive ACTUATORS and sensors with high efficiency. The low-EMI design minimizes interference with in-vehicle networks and wireless communications.

[Major features]
LDO: Low Iq, reset watchdog function
DC-DC: Synchronous rectification, spread spectrum, low EMI
Wide input range (3.7 to 40V)

Use Case 3: Powertrain and xEV Control

[Use case overview]
A wide input range and high efficiency are essential for electric powertrains and INVERTERS control. OPTIREG™ Switchers support 42V and operate stably even during cold cranking and load dumps. Our PMICs are ASIL-D compliant, ensuring safety and optimizing low-voltage POWER SUPPLIES supplies in xEV high-voltage systems.

[Major features]
DC-DC: Wide input range (3.7 to 42V), high efficiency of over 90%
Functional safety: ASIL-D compliant (PMIC)
Protection functions: overvoltage, overcurrent, thermal protection
