CoolMOS™ 7
Product overview

The CoolMOS™ 7 series is the 7th generation Superjunction (SJ) MOS FETS group developed by Infineon, and is compatible with high voltages from 600V to 950V. As the successor to the conventional C6 and P6 series, it is optimized to achieve high efficiency, high density, and low loss designs. Even now, even after the introduction of the CoolMOS™ 8 series, the wide range of voltages and packages available means that it is widely adopted as a main product group in automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.

■ CoolMOS™ P7 (600V / 700V / 800V / 950V)
The P7 series achieves highly efficient power conversion, reducing SWITCHES losses with low gate charge and low on-resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including auxiliary POWER SUPPLIES, lighting, CHARGERS, and industrial motor drives.

■ CoolMOS™ CFD7 (600V / 650V)
The CFD7, with its fast body DIODES, is ideal for hard-SWITCHES environments, achieving high efficiency and reliability in PFC stages and LLC topologies, making it suitable for server POWER SUPPLIES and solar INVERTERS.

■ CoolMOS™ PFD7 (600V)
While inheriting the features of the CFD7, it is optimized for low-power motor drives and CHARGERS. It combines high-speed recovery and high voltage resistance, and is designed to have excellent noise resistance.

■ CoolMOS™ S7 (600V)
The S7's ultra-low on-resistance makes it ideal for high-current applications. Combined with a package that allows for high-density mounting, it maximizes power density and thermal performance.

■ CoolMOS™ C7 (600V / 650V)
The C7 series boasts industry-leading SWITCHES performance and is ideal for ZVS topologies and high-frequency applications, achieving both high efficiency and reduced EMI.

■ CoolMOS™ G7 (650V)
The G7 is the successor to the C7, pursuing even greater efficiency and reliability. It supports high-frequency SWITCHES and contributes to higher performance in industrial POWER SUPPLIES and communication equipment.

CoolMOS™ 8
Product overview

CoolMOS™ is Infineon's leading brand of high-voltage superjunction MOS FETS. Its outstanding FoM (FoM), including low on-resistance and low Qg/Qoss, significantly reduces losses in key topologies such as PFC, LLC, and flyback, contributing to higher efficiency and the miniaturization and high-density of POWER SUPPLIES. In particular, CoolMOS™ 8 features an integrated fast-body DIODES, covering a wide range of industrial and consumer applications with a single family. While inheriting the strengths of previous generations (P7, PFD7, C7, CFD7, G7, and S7), it also offers excellent design ease, thermal performance, and price/performance. It is ideal for adapters and CHARGERS, server and telecom POWER SUPPLIES, LED lighting, UPS/solar, EV charging and OBC, and more.

Use Case 1: SMPS for Servers and Communications (PFC + LLC)

POWER SUPPLIES for data centers and communication base stations require 80 PLUS Titanium-class efficiency. Reducing losses in the PFC and LLC stages is particularly important, and the CCM totem-pole PFC configuration is becoming mainstream.
CoolMOS™ CFD7/C7/G7 are resistant to high frequency hard SWITCHES, while S7 is optimized for the low frequency leg, achieving high efficiency without using SiC.
