NXP Automotive Microcontroller S32K311 Evaluation Board by NEXTY Electronics
Key Points of NXP's Latest Automotive Microcontroller Original Board
The S32K311 evaluation board "NXTEVB-NX-S32K311-48LQFP-UJA-001A" is equipped with NXP's S32K311 automotive microcontroller in a compact LQFP package, along with CAN FD (5Mbps) and LIN transceivers.
It supports the "S32 Design Studio for S32" Integrated Development Environment (IDE), available free of charge from NXP.
To facilitate immediate software development, NEXTY Electronics provides free sample code for CAN, LIN, ADC, Timer, and GPIO, specifically prepared for this evaluation board and compatible with S32 Design Studio.

Latest Automotive Microcontroller Functions Integrated into a Small Package
- The S32K311 is NXP's latest automotive microcontroller, with mass production starting in 2024.
- Equipped with an ARM Cortex-M7 120MHz CPU core within a compact 48-pin LQFP package.
Equipped with the latest hardware and software, supporting cybersecurity and OTA updates
- Supports OTA (Over the Air: software updates during microcontroller operation). The 1MB ROM can be flexibly divided into 512KB sections for use.
- Supports cybersecurity standard ISO / SAE 21434. Standard security firmware is available free of charge.
Setting up a development environment is easy and affordable
- Since it uses an industry-standard ARM core, you can utilize many of your existing ARM-compatible integrated development environments and debuggers.
- NXP provides the development environment (S32 Design Studio) free of charge.
- Driver software, combining the SDK and Autosar OS MCAL into an RTD (Real Time Driver), is also provided by NXP at no extra cost.

The evaluation board features an integrated power supply, also known as a System Basis Chip (SBC), with a built-in CAN-FD 5Mbps transceiver. This SBC can supply 5V or 3.3V at 250mA.

TJA1021
TJA1021 is a LIN transceiver compatible with LIN 2.0/2.1/2.2/2.2A/SAE J2602/ISO 17987–4:2016. SO8 or HVSON8 packages are available, and it is pin-compatible with past products such as TJA1020 and MC33662B. It also supports low-power mode (sleep mode), allowing wake-up from both local and remote sources.
