TULIP - The Low-code Platform for Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Sites

Smart Factories and Robotics

Background

Digitalization has progressed in recent years, so much so that factories can now acquire data from various IoT devices and systems. However, this data is not yet in a position to be used in real time and organically. In many cases, acquired data is entered manually, or the necessary information is exported to Excel at each site to generate the relevant charts and graphs.

What is more, on-site work procedures and numerical values for proceeding to the next task are communicated to workers on paper. However, checking the process is left up to on-site staff, and since there are few means of checking, defective products are often only discovered during the final process of inspection, resulting in a lot of waste.

Although attempts have been made to create applications to solve these problems, it takes a lot of time and effort to formulate, develop, and change specifications due to a lack of IT personnel, or lack of understanding of IT personnel, on-site. As a result, it has been difficult to make applications that are easy to use on-site.

Our Solution

TULIP is an easy-to-use interface that requires no programming knowledge. This makes it possible to create and run applications on-site without the need to outsource to external vendors.

Furthermore, by linking to various sensors and measuring devices on the platform, TULIP helps to prevent errors usually associated with input manually or when handwritten, quickly collecting accurate and precise data. This helps to solve the problems of digitalization and data conversion at manufacturing sites, thereby contributing to the realization of DX, including data use and visualization.

TULIP’s entry into the Japanese market has already resulted in a 59% decrease in defect rates*, a 67% decrease in training time*, and an 18% increase in productivity*.

TULIP features:
・ Ability to create applications needed on-site without programming (low-code)
・ Ability to accumulate data and digitize manuals, quality-control checks, etc.
・ Ability to connect with measurement and IoT devices to acquire and store data
・ Ability to visualize accumulated data with applications and dashboard functions
・ Ability to seamlessly coordinate with external systems (ERP, production management systems, etc.)
・ Ability to always have cutting-edge technology on-hand without the need to own IT assets (no maintenance/operation costs)

Our Strengths

NEXTY Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with T Project, a company that distributes the TULIP service in Japan, providing the ideal backdrop for collaboration between the IoT and systems required at manufacturing sites to Japnanese company.

For example, by integrating ZeroKey indoor positioning sensor handled by us with TULIP, we are jointly proposing a solution with T Project Co., Ltd. to automatically record tightening torque while automatically determining the tightening positions of screws, ensuring traceability with the order and strength of pressure.
