NEXTY Electronics Forms Business Alliance With a Canadian company Acerta, a Provider of Analytics Solutions for the Automotive Industry

The Toyota Tsusho Group’s electronics trading company, NEXTY Electronics Corporation  (President: Atsushi Aoki; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as “NEXTY Electronics”), has formed a business alliance with Acerta Analytics Solutions, Inc. (CEO: Greta Cutulenco; Headquarters: Kitchener, Canada; hereinafter referred to as “Acerta”), which provides machine learning platforms and data analytics services for the automotive industry. The two companies formed this alliance to provide analytics solution services that make use of uploaded data from automobiles, logistics vehicles, motorcycles, AGVs and other vehicles to contribute to the safety and optimization of connected cars.

[Background and Purpose]

As mobile networks become faster and gain increased capacity through 5G and other technologies, and the use of big data and AI accelerates, it is expected that numerous new services will be created as a variety of vehicles connect to these networks. Connected services, which mean safety, comfort and convenience for drivers, will grow in importance as the number of connected cars increases. Examples of these include remote diagnostics, which analyzes the data obtained from vehicles, and failure prediction leveraging big data.

This alliance enables diagnostics and predictions about the failure and degradation of vehicle components, and notifications regarding vehicle status and periodic maintenance by combining NEXTY Electronics’ vehicle data platform with Acerta’s AI and machine-learning driven vehicle data analytics platform.

NEXTY Electronics leverages the connected technologies it has cultivated over the years to offer a fleet management service package that includes everything from data collection devices to output data. Meanwhile, Acerta possesses highly specialized knowhow about vehicle analytics, with a history of developing machine learning solutions specifically for automotive and off-highway applications.

Through this alliance between NEXTY Electronics, with its strengths in car electronics, and Acerta, with its focus on automotive product and process analytics, the two companies will support data-driven business specific not just to automobiles but all vehicles. In the future, the alliance will offer a series of data analytics services for on-road operation and vehicle component design/manufacturing by combining data from both. In turn, these will contribute to minimizing customers’ compensation costs, optimizing the efficiency of the replacement part supply chain, and accelerating the creation of a safer and more secure society where the next generation of mobility plays a greater role.
